There are many types of lighting to choose from when attending trade shows. Each has the benefits and weakness.
Incandescent lights are a low wattage, low cost, screw in type of bulb that you use in your house. They do not put out as much heat as other type of lights and are perfect for shows that do not allow halogen lights. There are some venues in Vegas and other locations that you cannot use halogen lights. The low wattage results in a medium yellow beam of light but is the weakest out of the types to choose from.
Fluorescent lights are long tubes of mercury vapor that provide light. They come in a selection of shapes and sizes and are most commonly uses in backlit displays.
Halogen lamps are a type of incandescent light that comes in all different sizes. The sealed tube contains halogen gas that provides a bright white light with relative low heat.
When choosing the correct type of light consider the exhibit hall you are exhibiting in, what type of lights are permitted at the exhibit hall, the color of the light, and the design/look of the light fixture.
